I Can Still Read Your Mind
Cable was out most of the day, so here is another mathematically inclined mind trick for you. Grab pencil and paper, or a calculator ... ready?
- Pick a number between 1 and 9
- Subtract 5
- Multiply by 3
- Square the number (multiply the number by itself)
- Add the digits of that number together, for example, if your number is 83, you would add 8 and 3 and get 11.
- If the resulting number is less than 5, add five, otherwise subtract 4
- Multiply by 2
- Subtract 6
- Assign a letter to your number. A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, etc
- Pick a country that begins with your letter
- Pick an animal that begins with the second letter from your country
- Think of the traditional color of that animal ...
While the Order of the Elephant is the highest honor of Denmark, you won't find many real grey elephants there (outside of zoos, that is).
Now, you may have really thought outside the box and come with a brown emu, or maybe even elk. If you were really slippery, you might have come up with a black eel. But, I'm fairly sure you wound up with Denmark ... though Deutschland (Germany) is a possibility.
No, you thought of a grey elephant in Denmark. ~.^

I had Dominican Republic and a brown otter.
You didn't reaad my mind, then again this system does not work with the number 5.

1) 5
2) 5 - 5 = 0
3) 0 x 3 = 0
4) 0 x 0 = 0
5) 0 = 0
6) 0 < 5 = 0 + 5
7) 5 x 2 = 10
8) 10 - 6 = 4
9) 4 = D
10) Denmark
11) Elephant
12) Grey
It does get a bit sticky with numbers lower than 5 to begin with, because then you have to work with negative numbers. This will work with any whole integer,negative or positive, I believe.
And, anonymous ... I forgot about Dominican Republic. I think there are two other recognized contries whose names begin with D. I am unsure of what they are, however ... One is like Domican Republic, the other sounds like a mustard .. dijon or something like that. hehe
